Vibrant and wonderful, Chinese New Year in Singapore is truly a festive time. For the Voltas Singapore team, this celebration, held on 1st February, was a milestone as it occurred immediately after the successful completion of Stage 1 of the Thomson East Coast Line Project and opening of the 3 Stations, i.e. Woodlands North, Woodlands and Woodlands South Stations.
Sticking to tradition, they brought in the celebrations with the auspicious Lion Dance, meant to bring prosperity and good luck in the upcoming year. The team was then treated to a sumptuous lunch, where they participated in the Yu Sheng [Lo Hei] ritual - tossing a raw fish salad with chopsticks and shouting good luck wishes - believed to bring luck, wealth and long life to participants.
The Operations Director and Project Director also took this opportunity to emphasize the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and taking adequate precautions against the novel Corona Virus epidemic facing the world.
